چکیده

There is growing interest in sustainable road pavement technologies to protect the environment and provide economic benefits. Post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastics are considered for construction address threat of plastic waste materials (PWM) improve sustainability. Asphalt highly PWM recycling due its large daily production. The purpose this study investigate performance asphalt mixture containing PWM, specifically high-density polyethylene (HDPE), compare with two conventional mixtures. Three mixtures were considered: (1) binder PG 76-22 (SBS-modified); (2) 70-22 (3) 67-22 3% HDPE (the mixture). rheological properties modified binders evaluated. long-term field pavements was modeled using AASHTOWare software (v.1.1.6) three considered. results showed that all able comply cracking threshold specified by Louisiana Department Transportation Development (LaDOTD) high-traffic volume roads. In addition, similar one (SBS-modified) binder.

Pyrolysis Kinetics of Waste High-density Polyethylene using Thermogravimetric Analysis

Thermal behavior of plastic materials can be improved by knowing thermal degradation kinetics for the optimal design and operation of pyrolysis process. In the present study, thermogravimetric analysis has been used for the non-isothermal kinetic study of waste high-density polyethylene pyrolysis under nitrogen atmosphere at different heating rates 10, 20 and 40 °C/min. The kinetic parameters, ...

Pyrolysis of Waste Polystyrene and High-Density Polyethylene

As the rate of consumption of plastic materials in the world is greatly expanded, more waste plastics are generated. In recent years, their generation amount in Korea becomes about four million tons per year, according to data from the National Institute of Environmental Research. The disposal of waste plastic is mostly achieved by conventional ways such as landfill or incineration. However, th...

Fractional Distillation Process Utilized to Produce Light Fractional Fuel from Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) Waste Plastic

Plastics are not easily biodegradable; and because of these characteristics they can remain under landfill and water for a very long period of time. All over the world only 6% of waste plastics are recycled and the rest of all waste plastics are dumped into landfills. An experiment was conducted in a laboratory scale batch process under Labconco’s fume hood utilizing low density polyethylene (L...

Preparation of High Density Polyethylene/Waste Polyurethane Blends Compatibilized with Polyethylene-Graft-Maleic Anhydride by Radiation

Polyurethane (PU) is a very popular polymer that is used in a variety of applications due to its good mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties. However, PU recycling has received significant attention due to environmental issues. In this study, we developed a recycling method for waste PU that utilizes the radiation grafting technique. Grafting of waste PU was carried out using a radiation ...
